This noise is made randomly when I am using my computer. It doesn't sound like any hardware problems. If I had to describe it it sounds like "DUHHHN DOHHHN" or something like that. It has been going on since I got my computer. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be great. I has been doing it even when I totally reinstalled everything from leopard up.

Welcome to the Forum.
Could be an 'illegal instruction' sound - go into Sys Prefs>Sound> Sound Effects ( if u are on Snow Leopard ( be a bit more generous with the info )) and change the Alert sound to a new one. If the sound is now different then you have to sort when the sound occurs - what action of yours precedes it, before you know the why.
