Hi all. I've got a new Mac Book Pro and an old Canon Powershot Digital Elph SD 1000. I plug in the camera to a USB port and nothing happens. And I can't find the camera on the computer when it's plugged in. I've seen posts that say I shouldn't need any special software, but it's not recognizing the device. I can't find the CD the camera originally came with!

Any advice or help? Thanks!

If I recall correctly, Canon cameras do not mount as a disk, which I think is what you are asking. It should be recognized, though, by iPhoto and/orImage Capture. Try connedting and opening iPhoto and see if it shows up in iPhoto.
