Another "i" Software Package

Spymac is reporting that a tipster has told them that Apple plans on bundling Safari, Mail, and iChat and sell them for $29.95. Somehow I doubt this. All 3 of those programs have strong, free, competitors and at least 2 of them, the browser and mail program, are considered a core part of the OS. What are your thoughts? If it was true, would you actually buy it?

I would not buy it. There are applications that are essential to using a Mac. I payed ( well my company

) top dollar for my Mac, and these type of apps should be included. I would search alternative apps if needed.

I would not buy either. A mail application is part of the Unix operating system. There are many different browsers out there also. iChat I don't have a need for as of yet.

I would not buy it. I can use Proteus for AIM, Chimera for browsing, and Entourage for mail.

i highly doubt this would happen. remember the uproar of online complaints when the rumors speculated $49 for the iLife package and no free downloads?

I don't think many pwople would buy the product. If you look at iLife, iDVD is why they sold it. Due the size of the applications. I don't see that with, ichat, safari, and the mail app. These are all small applications. Unless they do some thing major with the applications, i don't see it selling as a package. Just my nickel.
