I need to know a FAST eSATA card for the cardbus on my powerbook. I also want to know: is it much faster than FW800 on a cardbus?

OMFG I am retarded, can a mod please move this to the correct category?

Do not waste your money as your machine is still stuck to the same old system bus speed. No noticeable difference between eSATA card and Firewire 800 or even 400 on a Dual Core.

Okay well my enclosure doesn't have firewire support (no place to connect it,) as the Veris MX-1 wasn't designed for macs. Is there a huge speed increase over USB2?

Yes there is and USB2 will probably not allow you to boot from the external.

eSATA won't either IIRC.
