is this doable?

see i received an old G3 awhile ago with 10.2 shoved on it. No classic, no install discs.

It runs SLOW!!! id love to pu OS9 on it, but cant get it anywhere.

Im told it lies on my optional packages disc that came with my G5. Is it in any way of use to me for the osx.2? or am i just SOL?

thanks in advance.

In a word...no. :black:
Classic is not entirely the same thing as OS 9. While Classic allows you to run OS9 apps and older, it is not an OS. It is more of an emulator of sorts.
Also if you put your G5's disc in the G3, it will likely only allow you to install 10.3 which by default, doesn't include Classic.
You can find copies of OS9 on eBay for next to nothing. You would have better luck just trying that. That way you don't violate and EULA by putting the G5 software on another computer, and you have the OS install for OS9 should you ever need it again. :)

so what does OSX do when it asks you to insert the OS9 CDs?
