Ok, so this summer I purchased a Mac after years of having PCs. I'm extremely paranoid about my computer having bad things on it. So I just wanted to make sure that these processes are ok.

No, nothing there to be worried about. Those are normal processes of the MacOS.

If it's of any assurance to you, your Mac is most unlikely to be invaded by the sorts of nasties that plague the Windows world.

Looks ordinary to me! Like hugh said, there's virtually nothing to be worried about with Macs in terms of security.

hughvane is being entirely too diplomatic.

There are NO viruses for the Mac, NO spyware, and almost no malware (a couple of things found alongside pirated software, which brings up Rule 4: Pay for What You Use. Don't Steal from Mac Developers). Not saying you do or would, but just pointing out that the ONLY malware found for the Mac after over 10 YEARS! was "trickware" hidden inside bootleg software. So its easy to avoid.
