New Mac Mini with Sony Bravia 52"

Trying to set up a new mac mini with my 52" bravia. Using the dvi to hdmi adapter.

Can't get the picture right. Have tried almost all resolutions, just can't get the whole screen to show on the sony. Cuts off all the top menu bar and half the bottom dock. What should I try next? Thanks

Open up Displays in System Preferences. On one of the tabs for the Sony you'll find an option to turn off 'Overscan'. Do it. You'll now have a minimal black border around all 4 sides of the screen. That's the best you're going to get without investing in SwitchResX or DisplayConfigX and creating a custom resolution.
