I have searched and searched and did download Perian. However it still has not solved my issue.
I use Sony Vegas pro 8 on my Windows system and my camcorder records to a flash card in AVI format. It also can record to mini DVD. I find the flash card to be so easy and quick, so have always used that.
I got some simple footage that I wanted to try in Imovie and well, it does not accept AVI. I did get the perian and can play AVI via QT now, but I would like to find something that can get my files into Imovie so I can actually use it.
I am very wary about downloading things from a google search. I went to the Apple website and searched through the Video app's available. I just can not seem to find what I need, or I am missing it.
I do not mind paying for QT Pro if required.
Thanks for all your help and time.
PS.
I have the new Macbook, so shall only be making very simple videos. I plan to buy the Quad imac once I get home from training later this year. So shall be buying FCE for that.
