Hello,

My iPhone 3G is not recognized by my Mac via USB cable.
No synchronization possible then.

I have a 3G iPhone unlocked and jailbroken.
Here is his information:
Version 3.1.2 (7D11)
Serial Number: 87918DR4Y7H
Model: MB489NF
prog modem: 05.11.07

The iPhone is not recognized by my Mac (iMac and MacBook Pro) in snow-leopard.
The cable works however for loading (electricity).

I have restarted the iphone with the button off and crane without success.

I have already removed the Mobile Device Service Apple and reinstalled iTunes
latest version (9) as recommended in iPhone and iPod touch: How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service on Mac OS X
viewlocale = en_US.
But in my case, I did not have the file by AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg should have been in the folder / Library / Receipts /
.
Again without success ...

Have you a solution to this problem ?

Thank you in advance

Fixed - thank you

Good evening,

I went today in my shop or Apple I was able to report that
cable that I had been sold, was not an original. It allowed many of
charge the iPhone from an electrical outlet, but not synchronize.
I bought a new cable and a miracle ... it works perfectly.

Thank you to everyone who looked at this post.

Please help same problem for ipod touch

I have exactly the same problem Olivier had --

My ipod touch shows up in iTunes but not in Devices in Finder on my Mac OS X.

I have mp4 movies in my iTunes library that I'd like to have on my ipod touch, but I can't drag them from the library into my ipod. I tried syncing movies, but it asks to sync everything including music -- I can't do that because the music on my iPod isn't in my iTunes library. I'd lose it all.

No idea why I can't drag the movies to my iPod in iTunes, but I decided to drag them from my computer desktop into my iPod in Finder, where all the Devices should be.

But like I said, my iPod doesn't show up in devices. I tried the troubleshooting -- the one Olivier mentionned. Just like him, I never found the last file "AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg"... I installed iTunes again by going on the website and installing the newest version.

Still, my iPod touch doesn't show up on my computer.

I paid for these movies, I'd really like to put them on my device!!!

Please help... I've tried different cables to connect my iPod to the computer, no difference.

...

This is normal behavior. Older iPods will show up in finder because they have a disk mode. iOS devices do not have such a mode.

You're probably going to need to invest in an app such as Pod to Mac to move your content to the computer so that you can sync your Touch properly.
