Final Fantasy 7 on PCSX

Hey. I have a PCSX emulator and I'm having problems on Disc 2 of FF 7. Basically in the forgotten city, before cloud goes into the area with the big crystal, after the first few cutscenes (i.e. after you put the key into the 'music box' ) the screen goes blank and then I see the next two dialogue boxes (something about projection image on water). After that it all goes blank with a few 'not allowed' beeps. I have looked up online solutions for these things but they were all on XP or Vista. I have OSX 10.5.8 and I can't find anything. I saw in a forum, someone saying use VGS, but there is none developed for mac after OSX 9 (or so I found). So, can anyone please help me with this?
