eMac g4 screen problems

Well, it can be any number of things. If the lines start immediately after the machine turns on, it could be a cable issue between the CRT tube and the logic board. It could also be a tube that is going bad.
If it starts displaying lines after the machine has been on for awhile, it could be an overheating issue with the graphics chip. That could be related to a fan not running or a bad logic board.
With a machine of this vintage, it's really hard to say.

thanks for the reply but whats weird is my emac is next to my old samsung tv (not hd)
and when i turn the emac off for like 4 hours and leave the tv off theres no more lines but when i turn the tv back on then the lines are there again
