Is there a way to make the fonts bigger on my macbook? I realize I've got a beautiful LED screen with great resolution :)! But i have a 17 MacPro and have a hard time reading sometimes when its on my lap!

You can set minimum font size in your browser preferences and set font sizes in other application preferences. However, I find that simply using the Command/+ key combination to increase, and Command/- to decrease sizes works best where that's available.

If you're trying to increase the font size in "non-application" related areas. Go to the "Finder"...AKA "The Desktop"...go to the:

- "View" drop-down menu
- choose "Show View Options"
- then modify the "Text Size"

Hope this helps,

If you're asking about the font in the Menu Bar at the top, then you're not going to find any way to increase that font size other than changing your screen resolutions. That of course changes everything, some of which you'll probably like even less.

Another option: new glasses! ;)

The menu bar font CAN be modified using TinkerTool System, but I really wouldn't recommend it.

This is why I'm not a fan of ultra-high res on a laptop computer.
I don't like them either. Increasing resolution without increasing screen size proportionally means you need to invest in magnifying glasses. ;)

The problem is that everyone has their own resolution preferences so one size does not fit all. That's one of the biggest downside of using a laptop or LCD screen. Back in the days of CRT monitors everyone was able to choose the resolution they liked, but laptops don't look good in anything but their native default resolution.
