I'm looking for a way for Safari to show me the URL before I click on a link. I want to be able to mouse over a link and see where it is going to take me without having to click.

Thanks!

Try going to Safari's "View" menu and choose "Show Status Bar". URLs will appear at the bottom of the Safari window in the gray bar. If you have bookmarks stored in the Bookmark Bar, URLs for those sites appear as tool tips in a little yellow box below the mouse pointer.

I never noticed that before!

Thanks for asking, JZ.

I've missed menu options/preferences like that before. Rather annoying when it happens isn't it?

Oh, I didn't miss the menu item. I have had Show Status Bar activated for two years. I only looked at it when a page was slow to load. I just never noticed it changing when I hover over a link!

I see what you mean. I often ignore that bar. For the longest time I was in the habit of looking at the bar when pages were slow to load. Took me a while to break that habit. Now I rarely look at the bar. I even had to hover over a link before I posted to make sure it still worked.
