Apologies.... I think I may have put this in the wrong area.

I have bought my first iMac and am struggling with some aspects .... either the OS, Safari or NeoOffice.

I need to be able to cut and paste text and graphics from a web page and copy it into a NeoOffice text document with text and images intact.

When I try, all I get is the text???

I've tried everything I can think of and now need some expert help.

Kind regards,

If you are trying to insert a image, 1st drag it to the your desktop and then into *said* document ....
You should be able to cut and paste easy enough.
highlight text then
cmd~c for copy
cmd~x for cut
cmd~v for paste.

And as i said just drag image if you need it

Cheers

Hi TattoedMac.
Yup it worked.
It's going to be a bit of a pain when I cut and paste pages with lots of images E;f photographic tutorials, but at least I've got a workaround now.

Many thanks for the guidance. It is appreciated.

Another idea:

On the Mac, you can make a PDF out of any page you can print. So make a PDF of the web page.

You can then open that in Preview (also included on your Mac) and crop it to the portion you want. Then just drop the edited PDF (or you could change it in preview to a JPG or whatever) into your Office document. Voila!

Hi Chas,
That also sounds interesting.
I've just had a quick hunt through the menus to make a pdf but I can't find anything.

Do I do this from within Safari?

From within Safari, File>Print... (or command+P) and at the bottom of your print screen there's a PDF tab and the drop down has options for saving as a file, etc. The process is also known as Print-to-PDF.
