Hi there !
I'm a newbie here and i'm having a big problem with my external HDD's in my iMac.
My external HDD's (coming from windows pc) aren't show any settings (admin, etc) in the 'Sharing & Permissions' field...
I have 4 Lacie HDD's and only one of them is 'read & write', all others are for read only but...i didn't changed anything. i can write & save etc in ony one of them (speaking of external HDD's) who is by itself adjusted for write & save etc...All others are only for read, buut the strange thing that before maybe a month i could do everything in all HDD's !!!!!......
So, any help how to change the remain 3 into 'read & write' ??

Any PC disk formatted to FAT32 will be read and write

Any PC disk formatted to NTFS will be read only

Either reformat all the drives to FAT 32 or get some software to allow OSX to wrie to an NTFS drive

Disk utility (Applications/Utilities) can reformat to FAT32 its labelled as MS-DOS (FAT) in the erase tag

The link I gave you to MacFuse allows full read write capability to NTFS drives

Yes. Even though the Mac can read/write to FAT 32 drives the formatting process erases all data on the drive. This is true whether you use a Mac orWindows program to do the formatting.
