need help for boot camp 3.1 on vista 32 bit

hi i have just recently installed vista 32 bit on my macbook pro. Also just recently i have updated my boot camp to 3.1, althought the red light for the headphone jack is gone my sound has seemed to of stopped working. My driver is installed cirus logic cirrus logic cs4206a (ab 77) and it is up to date but for some reason the speaker icon on the right bottom corner has an x on it and there is no sound. can some1 help me plz

First - you're posting in the wrong forum. The moderator will probably move this as appropriate.

Since you already installed Boot Camp 3.1 and still have no sound, (the X on the volume icon indicates no driver installed) I suggest going to the sound chip maker's web site and download the latest Vista 32 bit driver.

You didn't say if you had sound before installing BC 3.1. If you did, you can always roll the driver back to the previous one.

hey i umm did have sound with the old boot camp, but i couldn't use headphones or a mic. the new version of bootcamp 3.1 i believe will allow me to use headphones and mics b/c the jack does not display a red light anymore. this sound chip maker's web site what would that be exactly?

Use your System Profiler in Snow Leopard to identify the sound chipset in your machine. (for example: mine says "Intel Hi Def Audio" denoting an Intel sound chipset)

Or, open the hardware tree in Vista and identify your sound chipset. Then go to their website and download the latest Vista 32 bit drivers. The other option lets you roll back the driver to the old one when you had sound.
