VMware fusion in menu bar

since install its been there. its not running, i quit, but it stays in the menu bar. i checked in prefs and there seems to be no way to take it out. i like to keep my menu bar to a minimal so any help would be appreciated

Click on it and go down to application settings. You will see the top setting is for the application menu bar settings. You can turn it off there permanently or have it only on when VMWare is running.

Open activity monitor and check. It will vary from application to application.
