Probably an external hard drive, preferably with firewire. That way you have both storage and backup, and you can connect the external to either of the computers as required.

How to copy from the external? Drag and drop, but that's where firewire is much better, USB will be too slow.

You can also use network (LAN) to transfer files from one computer to the other, but you'll need a hub (switch) to enable that.

I just picked up a macbook pro last week. I used the "Home Sharing" option in iTunes to transfer my music over. Its not as fast as a external drive, but you dont need anything other than a router to do it. However, everything you want moved will have to be in iTunes.

I have a question, and didn't want to make a new thread since it's a similar subject.

I had the mobilesync folder downloaded onto a flash-drive from my last backup of itunes. I just reinstalled leopard and updated itunes to the current version, now how do I get my backup back onto itunes? :\ I don't want to sync my phone until I know it's there, but can't seem to figure out how. Just don't want to lose photos apps contacts etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
