can you upgrade this imac?

thinking about purchasing this imac...

can you upgrade memory and HDD in this imac? its not anymore difficult than upgrading a powermac or mac pro is it?

Ram is easy...hard drive is MUCH harder than a Powermac or a Mac Pro...but not impossible.

There are some videos on You-Tube that show you how to do swap the hard drive in the iMac you're considering.

And Nick over simplifies as it is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH harder replacing the hard and optical drives. Order the iMac with the larger HDD installed and you can do the memory yourself.

perhaps external hard drives might resolve part of your dilemma? I only keep minimal stuff on my desktop, and everything else archived on externals. But my photo storage needs outgrew my internal hard drive years ago.
