I like to multitask on my macbook pro. version. 10.5.8. And ever since the last upgrades of DVD Player, (newest version i have is 5.0.3) I haven't been able to work on any other application as DVD Player is playing my DVD. every time I click off of the player it pauses. I've tried playing with the preference settings but can't seem to figure it out. What is going on?? I use to be able to play a video and work on safari and illustrator at the same time! Can i play it on Quicktime? cause I've tried opening that up, but not sure how that works. never used it before. This is driving me nuts! gah!

First thing to try is run Repair Permissions from Disk Utility.
Next try dumping the DVD Player preference file.
It is located in Users / your user / Library / Preferences / com.apple.dvdplayer.plist
Close DVD Player - Move that file to the desktop - Re-open DVD Player

Let us know if one of those works or not.
