HELP! Keyboard not working

Help. My keyboard is not working. I checked the batteries and they are good. I am in Windows 7 and even cannot switch over to Mac to see if the keyboard works there. The Mac is just over a month old. (I am typing this on a PC)

I found and fixed the problem with Apple Help's help. Removing and replacing the batteries, AND holding down either the mouse button or the keyboard's space bar, turns the keyboard back on. Also the screw-in plug (which holds the batteries in the keyboard) needs to be twisted very slightly one way or the other to ensure good contact at that point with the batteries. Also the Mac has a screen warning message that the batteries are getting low.
