I have 2--2 TB external HD's and one portable external. I want to link them all via firewire 800 and use timemachine to backup the portable to the large externals.

The problem is that I am coming from a PC and need to get all my data from the PC onto one of the TB drives, but it is currently formatted as NTFS. I downloaded NTFS-3G plugin thinking that it would make the formats indiscernible, but it ejected my portable and warned me that if I forced a mount it could erase the data.

Is there anything that I can do to make this workflow...work?

Thanks

What Mac OS are you running? If you have Snow Leopard you could try NTFS Mounter.

what file format is the portable external?

Is the data from your PC on the portable? And it's failing to mount?
