Hey Peeps,

I have been given a Power Mac G5 Dual 2GHz PowerPC and it is running Tiger.... I would love to upgrade to Snow Leopard as I have it on my Macbook pro but from my understanding it wont work on a PowerPC. I would like to upgrade to Leopard 10.5.6 but don't know where to find the operating system to buy. Can anybody help me? There must be somewhere that I can find it to upgrade the system...

Any advice welcome.....

Indeed it has to loo like that picture, make sure you don't buy a greay restore disk, they are specific to the model they ship with and will not install on your particular mac.

Hey Peeps,

You can't upgrade your G5 to Snow Leopard...because Snow Leopard (OS 10.6) is for Intel Mac's only (the G5's have a PPC processor).

So the most up-to-date OS you can install is OS 10.5 Leopard...with the most up-to-date version being 10.5.8.

Hope this helps,

- Nick

There's absolutely no way you searched e-Bay! There are lots of 10.5 copies for sale there!!!

BTW...I know you said "new copies"...if you need a "new copy"...lots of luck when the "used copies" are selling for $125-$229!
