Illustrator cs3 problem

Hey all, I am a graphic designer and use Illustrator often but never came across this issue. Whenever I draw with the pen tool I do not see the individual points. The only time I can see them is when I am holding down the mouse button or dragging. I have no idea what is hiding them. If you have a solution please let me know.
