Hope someone can help with this...I have a MacBook Pro with Office for Mac, and all of a sudden, when I e-mail a Word doc to a windows user, they can't open the attachment. Tried sending it as a PDF, same result. I'm sending through AOL...so I don't know if the problem is with AOL or my Mac...I've sent the attachments to two different recipients with Windows, results are the same, neither can open the attachments. If anyone is familiar with this problem, I'd love to hear how you solved it. Thanks!

Sounds like the problem may be with AOL or the Windows users have their security set to NOT open attachments from email. Word DOCs and especially PDF files should be able to be read by a Windows user if the right programs are installed on the PC.
Have your recipients check their security settings in Windows mail, Outlook, or Outlook Express to see if they are restricted from opening attachments.
