Hi,

Im really hoping someone will be able to help me out with this.
I have a fairly new (ive only had it for four months) 8gb itouch, i won it actually, and so there is so such warranty or anything that came with it.

The problem is ever since a month ago, whenever id try to plug my itouch into my PC to sync/update it (its still v.2.1), the modem would make this weird paper crunching noise and then shut off randomly. ive looked on a whole bunch of other forums who said to reinstall, and so i did. i completely uninstalled everything to do with itunes, reinstalled it and the itouch worked for a bit. then it started up AGAIN. my comp is not hooked up to a HP printer (i have both canon and lexmark though, unplugged them to no avail), nor to a logitech webcame (i have an intel one) and i dont have anything else hooked up to a USB port.

i was thinking it could be my itouch, seeing as how i didnt buy it from a retailer but my computer is sort of old, (its windows XP), i think we've had the modem for about 4 or 5 years now.

HOWEVER, i also dont think its my itouch since we also have an iphone, which we did buy from a retailer that ALSO shuts off the computer and that was when it was brand new and i hadnt even synced it to itunes as yet! but it keeps shutting down the computer too. D:

Please, please, if anyone can shed some light on this, it would be great. ive been trying to figure out *** is wrong but it seems like nothings working.

if you're not going to be even remotely helpful, dont bother commenting.

Wow, I guess you can't be joked with! By the way, I did help you.. There really is no such thing as an iTouch.

You're welcome! haha..
