Randomly and with out warning! Usually when I'm doing nothing and I leave it open; my 17" Macbook Pro makes a kind of ding-dong sound (but much more high pitched and obnoxious... ) and I have not been able to figure out why or how to stop it!
I've read through other people reporting similar problems, but with different sounds. IT JUST DID IT! I can't find it in the sound effects page or folder in system library, and I'm not even sure if the type of sound matters... just the fact that it's happening uncontrollably.
