Unusual Problem?

Ive acquired a black 13' macbook built i think in 2007. not sure if theres water damage could be possible but not sure. it sounds as if it is going to turn on white light on the bottom right hand corner comes on flickers for a bit screen flicks cpu fan spins but then shuts off. im new to mac's but not new to pc. i have alot of knowledge and am thinking this could be a hard drive error from what ive read. if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate your help

So replace the hard drive and find out?

EDIT: i replace hard drive. same thing happening. any suggestions?

maybe its that pesky "possible water damage " .

im having the same problem with my black macbook! it also happens when its on sleep and when i press a button, it wont turn back on until after a few attemps. it runs perfect but its just sometimes when i start it but other then this problem, i have NONE at all with my mac. i thought it would be hdd but its working fine?. i havnt dropped any type of liquid on mine either.

i then thought it would be cus the mb needs to cool down and wont let me on? cus if i leave it to stand for a bit and then go back to it it will start :S

it really is confusing me!

help would be appreiciated very much!

apart from "cus" things happen.....
I would do some trouble shooting.. starting at a hardware test!
