hello,

I was told that I will not be able to connect an external monitor if the computer can't boot Os X.

_had and accident, the screen is broken, the thing fell right on top of the HD and everything else seems fine, the computer turns on and I the broken up screen lights up but I can't tell what.

_i tried target disk with a second PB but didn't work.

I'm thinking about buying a new HD to test if that is the problem but they are sold empty without OS X, so that wont help me with this test.

I'm trying t think about what can I do but I need your help.

will an external HD help? can I run OS X from external HD? anyone have ideas?

Thanks a lot

If the HD is damaged, and wont boot, an external monitor will not work at all. you can boot just the same from an external hd, you will obviously need a working mac machine to install the os onto the external hd.
