Hi,

I am a total noob, so sorry for stupid question..

If I download something (a program like photoshop), and setup application does not start, then what's wrong? no error messages, simply shows the icon in the dock for 1-2 seconds and the disappears and nothing..

I have a macbook.

thanks for any help.

My first inclination would be to say that piece of pirated software doesn't work.

not if it was an illegal download... Malware would be the error or warning!

I'm not sure how to respond....
Any legit app for mac that is a free download will have an installer which will have you drag the app into the app folder.
The Mac won't start something that it "shouldn't be" if you want to look at it that way!
As for improperly installed apps, or apps that are not Mac versions, or illegal.... I'll just leave it up in the air!
If you need help installing an application that you obtained that is legal, compatible, and not going to get Mac's arrogant back up, just say the word :)
