Hi
I'm from thailand so please forgive my english.

I wonder if any of you guys have the same problem. I use a samsung syncmaster 2043 with my mbp. And whenever i visit a webpage with dark backgrounds (like this one Shan, Karen, Burmese Fonts )the external screen will always dim automaticly to an almost unreadable level(i use firefox)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

The only thing I can think of that might do that is your color space selection. Go to /System Preferences/Displays/Color Tab and try different color spaces to see if that helps.

Works Ok for me in Safari with External display. There is a recent update out for FireFox - might help.

Maybe its caused by Samsung's dynamic contrast technology. I had the same problem on my Samsung LCD TV which is capable of adjusting its contrast to the overall current brightness on the TV.

Very annoying thing, but I think Samsung fixed that in the newer models. Try to deacvtivate dynamic contrast in your Monitor settings (not on MBPro, on the monitor directly)...but first check if your monitor supports that. ;)
