Restoring System Pictures?

So the other day I was playing with automator trying to organize my files into their proper folders. I had it search my computer, find all items of kind Image, append the date created to the file, and had them moved to the images folder.

It moved EVERY image including things like .icns files to the images folder.

I deleted the files and emptied the trash (probably should not have done that), but now that they're gone, I've noticed finder is beachballing constantly.

I do not have any backups to restore from.

Any ideas?

I think you're going to have to reinstall just about everything, including the OS, to get all the icons and misc images back to where they belong. I hope someone else has an easier solution for you.

Yeah, that's what happened. I restarted my machine the next day and it would not boot up. Made for a real bad day hah

Probably should have set specific directories

Just re-install OS X.
