Hi, I'm having problems running quicktime movies- .avi and .mov and i'm not sure what I'm supposed to download to allow quicktime to read these. Any help is appreciated.

I've noticed that Quicktime has only a select number of codecs. Try using mPlayer or VLC Media Player
Either of those should be able to play your avi files.
i would check those out too.

Just download Divx which installs a ton of codecs for QuickTime. I rarely have to open up VLC to play anything
