Hey guys, I just got a Macbook Pro Unibody 15, but with a 9400m. Is there really a noticeable difference between the two? I wanted to get the 9600m with it, but my dad didn't let me.

Is it possible to swap out the logic board at one time to put a 9600m in it? (I doubt I'd do that though)

I did a search and didn't find anything.

Thanks

You can not see any different if you do a normal work (surf internet, world processing ..., even with not heavy games).

I think you can not change the graphic card neither because it was embedded onto the logic board. 9400m would be fine for you.
enjoy your Mac!!!

Well I'm not a heavy game player. (Maplestory at the most :p) I was looking at installing a CAD suite onto this mac (I'm screwed)

Looks like I'll need to purchase a workstation in addition.

It's been great. 1 question though, does this Macbook have 2 fans?

The difference is one is a dedicated graphic card (9600) which has it's own memory and doesn't steal it from the system (9400).

The 9400M is a amazing card and the difference is so small that optically you will not be able to tell them apart.

Really?

Way to hype it up Apple Store dude.

I'm trying to figure out why the macbook is so hot, maybe it's itunes.

Just for the record, it's the 9600GT... which is a dedicated card... so yes, there is a huge difference between the two, however the 9400m will suffice for light gaming like WoW and I believe even Crysis on minimum settings.
