Hello
I have a question about battery capacity and the info that Coconut Battery gave me: I have 2 batteries and I need to only keep one. One is traveling 65 mph east and the other....wait, sorry, wrong dilemma. One battery (battery 1) shows the following in CoconutBattery: current battery capacity: 4986 mAh, 99%, Load cycles: 562. The other battery (battery B) says: current capacity 4657 mAh, 93%, load cycles 116. Now I would think I would go with Battery 1, since it shows a higher capacity and % but battery B has significantly less load cycles. Would one of you geniuses out there dumb it all down for me please.
Thanks

Battery life depends on how the user used & cared for the battery over it's lifetime...so looking at two different batteries with vastly different load cycles (but with somewhat similar battery capacity remaining)...it's tough to say why the numbers are they way they are.

If I had these two batteries...I would probably keep both of them...since it's nice to have a "backup" battery for long trips. But if I could REALLY only keep one...I would probably keep the one with the fewer load cycles.

IMO dont use CoconutBattery as it gives false readings and worries more people than it needs too.
I got rid of it after a little research on the web ... Not worth the worry

cheers

Those batteries are both nearly identical in terms of capacity.

What's your point?...you're simply pointing out the obvious!

The question really isn't about capacity (93% vs. 99%)...it's about the large difference in load cycles (562 vs. 116).

I guess it's not "obvious" that given two batteries with comparable capacity, one would keep the unit with a lower cycle count. Duh?

My point was...your initial post in this thread didn't add anything new to the conversation.

Stating the obvious (that both batteries have similar capacity remaining), probably wasn't much help to the original poster!
