how can i stop being redirected

when I type in google into my browser it automatically redirects me to "mediaplex" redirect. how can i stop this so i can access google.com?? any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you've caught one of the two DNS Redirector trojans for Mac OS X.

These are usually bundled with pirated versions of iWork and/or by downloading a "video player" from certain...ahem.... less than reputable sites. Be careful of downloading and installing software from sites that you don't trust, particularly if you're prompted enter your password during the install.

thank you so much for the help. ill give the trojan removal program a shot. hope it works (fingers crossed) i wonder how i got this because the other than the occasional mp3 i dont d/l anything and i never go on porn websites. anyway, thanks again for taking the time to help.

i d/l that program and it said my computer was clean but im stii having the same problem. any other suggestions??

What browser? Safari? Which version of OSX? Did you try another browser like say Firefox?

safari. osx version 10.6.2 havent tried any other browsers. i can access all other websites fine. its only when i type in google into the browser that that it redirects me.

Try this and if it does not fix it try Firefox and see if Google does the same thing.

Click on Safari in the Menu Bar and on Empty Cache. Restart Safari. try Google and report back.

i emptied the cache like you said and it worked!! thanks so much for all your help.
