boot up problem

Ok i have a macbook pro 2.26ghz with 2 gb ram and a 250gb hdd. I bought it about a month ago and i love it, however just today, when I boot it up I hear the boot up sound and the superdrive doing its sound disk check thingy. But the screen doesn't turn on, but then the screen turns on and the apple boot sound goes again.

Is there a way to fix this? If you need more info please ask.

I'm running 10.6.2
