I just bought a used MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.8, it came without the original discs. I have the recovery discs from a MacBook OS X 10.5.5.

My question is Can I use my MacBook discs in this MacBook Pro?

No, you cannot, the grey recovery discs that come with a new Mac are made especially for that model.

The recovery discs for your MacBook will not have the correct system/hardware drivers for your MacBook Pro.

I would suggest contacting the previous owner and see if you can get the orginal discs from them.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Or ring apple and see if they will send you out some at a minimum cost.

Or, instead of the original install disks, just purchase the retail upgrade of Snow Leopard 10.6.2 for $29.99 from Apple.

Regards.
