Hey guys. When I wake my Macbook from sleep, sometimes it will freeze and shows red lines on the screen. Just tonight when waking it from sleep, this happened when I tried to go to another website.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Added memory or peripherals to the laptop lately?

Have a look at this link and see if anything helps and after that boot from your install disc and run Apple Hardwar Test:-

I have only one set of kernel panics before and they were solved after repairing my disk permissions. I would suggest that you give that a try (instructions here).

Nope nothing lately. I repaired disc perms right after I took the pic. Only time will tell though whether or not it worked.

Ok guys. I reinstalled OS X and it is still panicking. I took out a RAM module and with the one still in it, it happened again. I put the other ram module in the same slot. Same thing. Now I am trying one stick of RAM in slot 2 and we are seeing how it works out. I am hoping that it is just the RAM and not a bad slot.

It turns out, that RAM Slot 1 is dead. Wow. Now I am stuck with only a gig of RAM. Oh well.

If your machine is still under warranty, have it fixed. There is no reason to be satisfied with only one RAM slot.

No its Macbook 1,1. I have taken it apart and fixed multiple components many times. There is no way it is under warranty. My friend gave it to me dead and out of warranty so I resurected it and replaced parts as they broke along. Unfortunately this problem requires a new board. Not fixable.
