My oldish iMac is making weird noises every time i switch windows

every time i switch windows, click on a text box, right click, or click on anything, my mac makes a beeping noise. its a different sound for the different things im clicking on. personally i find it very annoying and i want to know if anyone knows what im talking about and knows what to do about it. so if anyone knows what im talking about please provide some help. thanks!

Yeah, more information would help, including which "oldish iMac" model, and which mouse you're using. I can't see anything in SysPrefs > Universal that might put in a sound on mouse click.

Try using your keyboard Cmd-~ to toggle between window or tabs, and Cmd-Tab to toggle between open applications. See if the noise occurs then.

Can you try a different mouse? Almost any cheap generic one will do.
