I seem to have lost the little Download doohicky/icon that used to fan out when I clicked it and also showed me what was going on during a download - it's no longer on my Dock.

How can I get it back?
I can find the Download folder in Finder, but just can't figure out what to do next (or what I did that made it disappear from the Dock) to replace it in the Dock.

Thanks, you Mac geniuses!

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
you must have accidentally dragged it off the dock.
Just drag the downloads folder from your finder onto your dock, and you'll have it back as you were before :)
*don't worry, dragging anything from finder onto the dock doesn't move it, it just creates a "shortcut" so to speak.

Drag that folder back to your Dock next to the Trash.

EDIT: Beaten to it.
