I was given an iBook 1.42 GHz , Powerbook6,7 and would like to upgrade to Leopard 10.5 from 10.4.11 but have not been able to find where I might be able to obtain a legitimate copy of the universal release. So far my Google-fu has been useless. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to solve my dilemma? I apologize for making my first post a cry for help.

ebay

call Apple direct - not listed on web site, but have heard you can still order it from them

Amazon - although you're going to pay a pretty penny for it there

Also what are the specs on that iBook especially the RAM? With Tiger 10.4 you can get by with less RAM but with Leopard 10.5 I would recommend at least 1GB. That 1.42Ghz iBook G4 should be able to go up to 1.5GB RAM. Is that the 14" model?

If not buying from Apple, be sure it is the retail disc ("universal"). The gray ones, as you may know, are machine specific.
