I find a file at a torrent site I want. I download it. I open Transmission, it says it is downloading. But nothing ever transfers. It just sits at 0. Do you think the Mac firewall or some other setting is the problem? Any ideas? Thanks!

You have to enable port forwarding on your router. UDP and TCP port 51413 (the default for transmission) has to be forwarded to your Mac's assigned IP. You can check to see if the port is open by going to Transmission menu => Preferences => Network tab.

Also, do note that Torrent downloads do start slow until you start getting a piece of the file. Additionally, if no one is seeding that particular file, it may never start.
