loading music from memory stick to itunes

brand new mac user.i want to take the music from my memory stick and add it to my itunes library...i am having no luck

Can you explain to us what "having no luck means" ??

What have you tried ??
Did you try Dragging them from Stick to iTunes ??

Need more info please

i open i tunes
i select add to library
i click on the album folder
i click on choose
nada
when i drag i get a green plus sign but cant put it in itunes

Can you copy the folder full of music onto your Mac HD and then try...

What version of iTunes are you running? If you have the latest version, then navigate to User > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music and then paste you folder in the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.

Check your iTunes preferences to make sure that it's configured to copy music into the iTunes library on import

I got my music into my iTunes by using a memory stick also and all I had to do was drag the music off of the memory stick and into iTunes.

still no luck

i have sent to desk top all folders from memory stick
i have opened i tunes and selected ad to library
all my folders appear in left hand colunm of add to library page
when i select choose ....nothing happens
what selection do i require for import settings(ie)MP3..AAC Encoder??

If the files are already MP3 then you need no settings to be changed, they should just drag and drop.

What's the source of the MP3s? Are they from a ripped CD? Another iTunes account, another music service (Amazon etc).

Just wondering if they have DRM protection applied to them?

OK....... can you bring up a Get Info window on one of the files and post the screen shot?

So they could be WMA? That would explain everything!

You can drag unprotected WMAs into iTunes. It converts them to AAC (by default)


edit: Actually . . . scratch that. I think that only works in the Windows version

Correct, Mac does not do WMA.
