why is my internet so slow

hi all

when i turn on my macbook and click safari the bar goes 1/4 way up and just sits there.
sometimes i can wait minutes.
any ideas??

i was told to unplug modem to reset it
Still had the same problem

After been on net for a while it can speed up

How do you connect to your modem? Is it wireless or ethernet?

Reboot the router. Unplug and plug back in - Always the first thing you should do before looking further into a problem

OK. Connected the Mac directly to one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the router and disable the Airport connection. Is it faster? If so, then we've isolated it to the wireless connection, if not, then we know it's something with your Internet Service Provider or a software issue with your Mac.

Hard to say why that is without knowing the actual source of the problem. Once we can isolate it, we can better conjecture as to the cause.

what i have found is i turned macbook on tonight and i clicked on safari and it takes ages to do anything.
i then turned airport off and back on and internet was very fast.

anyone??
