speed converting AVi to DVD with MAC

Hi,

Using Windows 7 and DVDXConvert, I am able to convert a 700MEG XVID to a DVD within 25 minutes. I am due to change to MAC on Thursday when my i5 27in MAC arrives (cant wait)

I have read that there are some speed issues when doing the same thing with a MAC, is this true and would the machine I am getting be faster and if so what software is recommended?

That iMac should do it very fast indeed with its quad core processor.

You have 2 choices for making DVDs.
