Flashing Screen After Exit

So I downloaded this game in closed Beta earlier today called "Heroes of Newerth" and this game is still in early beta. And after I exit the game ocassionally the games exit but then my desktop begins to start flashing black then back to the screen. And it kept doing it until I closed the screen lid and opened it up again. So I uninstalled the game but I am now worried that this error might be an error with my hardware, software or computer itself rather than the game. So anyone have any idea on what this could be? I'm really hoping this is a bug with the game because I'm really tired of dealing with the Apple Techs. All help is appreciated.

I'm betting this is some obscure warning the OS is giving; probably not even an "official" error -- something left in from development days.
