I have the 30" Apple display and it doesn't have a rotate function on it either. Must be just for certain displays.

That might confirm the nVidia / ATI issue. From said above it looks like it only works on ati cards as of now. For the 30 inch did you opt for the nVidia FX6800 or the ATI x800?

So...there's no software out there to do this? What about us poor 10.3.9 souls?

I read that if you hold Option when you open the Display panel in Tiger, this allows you to bring up the Rotate command on systems which otherwise wouldn't have it enabled - for example, PowerBooks.

On the strength of this I've just ordered Tiger for my Powerbook, because I've been wanting to do this for ages. This allegedly works for ATI graphics cards only. May be worth a try for those with Tiger who can't get it working otherwise.

It shows up on my dell 20.1" widescreen display, though when I rotate the screen everything slows way down. I'm hoping it's just a bug with Tiger that'll be soon fixed, but who knows.
