Is that the only user account that you have setup on that Mac. If so you will need to go into the Accounts preference pane and create an new user account with administrator privileges.

Once you have more than one user account on the machine you can use the Accounts preference pane to delete accounts that are no longer needed.

If you go into the Mac Help files Delete User Account one of the results will explain how to delete unwanted accounts.

Apple icon in the top corner - System Preferences; this is where you will find all preference panes related to your system.

If you haven't done so, you need to spend some time in System Preferences.
Open it up, at least take the time to browse around all the different areas available to you there.
Pretty much all your system changes are made there. Kind of like Control Panel in that other OS.
You'll become much more comfortable with the use of your computer.
