My mac which is running on 10.4.11 won't read my new ipod touch - I've been told that I will have to update to tiger to make my comp recognize the ipod touch - Is this true?

Thanks for any help -

10.4.11 is Tiger

?? Have the iPhone instead of the iPod Touch

My 'guess' would be you just need to update to the latest iTunes

edit: Yep, after looking at the spec requirements - you need 10.4.11 or higher and iTunes 9 - see the Mac System Requirements

Do you have iTunes 9 installed? The Apple site lists the following as system requirements:

- Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
- Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later
- iTunes 9 or later

I'm going to assume that your Mac has the USB 2.0 port and you stated that you have 10.4.11 installed so the only missing piece is probably iTunes 9.

I seem to recall that the latest iTunes also requires the latest Safari. I think that was when I tried to access the Store. :)
